Immigration and Visa Requirements

Social Workers can apply for either a temporary or permanent visa to work in Australia.

We will sponsor successful candidates via a Temporary (Long Stay) Business Visa, for 4 years. Candidates will be supported to apply for permanent residence once they are in Australia, should they wish to do so.

The Department of Immigration and Citizenship suggests that the Temporary Business (Long Stay) visa (subclass 457) is the preferred temporary visa for social workers entering Australia. It allows applicants to take advantage of streamlined visa processing arrangements, including the ability to lodge applications on-line.

For immigration purposes, comprehensive information about visas and immigration issues can be found on the Department of Immigration and Citizenship website.
