Phase One Preparing for Enactment
Phase One - Preparing for Enactment
In preparation for enactment, five training modules were delivered to orientate Child Protection, Family Services, Placement and Support and Indigenous agency staff to the ecec reforms and the changes resulting from the CYFA 2005. These included:
- Leadership: Leading the Reforms,
- Best Interests: Promoting Safety and Stability and Development,
- Strengthening Responses for Aboriginal Children and Families under the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005,
- Earlier Intervention and Intake,
- Court Orders and Practice Requirements.
Each training module was collaboratively developed and jointly delivered in regional settings by the Child Protection Professional Development Unit and a Community Service Organisation/Indigenous Agency representative. On request, these modules were modified and delivered centrally to a range of specialist audiences, including Child Safety Commissioner and Ombudsman staff, CRIS implementation and training teams, Court Advisory Unit staff and VACCA staff.
