Registration of Community Service Organisations
One of the significant reforms of the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005 is the promotion of high quality services through the registration of community service organisations (CSOs) and the development of performance standards for family and out of home care services.
As part of registration, CSOs undertake internal reviews of their performance in relation to the registration standards. An external review will be undertaken as part of their tri-annual re-registration. In combination these reviews aim to improve services and promote children’s rights to safety, stability and healthy development.
