Strategic Framework for Family Services
A new Strategic Framework for the Department of Human Services funded Family Services program provides an opportunity to establish a contemporary approach to responding to vulnerable and at risk children and their families. This contemporary framework is consistent with the significant reform agenda that led to new policy and legislation in 2005.

The Implementation Plan for the strategic framework for Family Services
The Implementation Plan for the strategic framework for Family Services was distributed to all Family Services organisations in April 2007. Oversight of this Implemenation Plan is the responsibility of the Child & Family Services Advisory Group. Registration Standards for CSOs
The Children, Youth and Families Act 2005 provides for the Minister to determine performance (registration) standards for any matter relating to the operation of a community service.
The standards have been developed in consultation with the Registration Reference Group, the Placement and Support and Family Services branches of Child Protection and Family Services, regions, community service organisations and Aboriginal community controlled organisations.
The registration standards replace the existing standards minimum standards for residential care and home based care.
The standards were gazetted at the commencement of the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005.
An audit tool for the internal performance improvement reviews and external quality assurance audits is being developed.
