Outcomes of the DHS Integrated Family Violence funding process

Outcomes of the DHS Integrated family Violence funding process

The total funding allocated through this process is $40.6 million over three years. This funding will be used to drive reform and respond to increasing demand for family violence services. This is an opportunity for services to make improvements to all aspects of their family violence operations, ensuring women and children's safety and strengthening the accountability of those who perpetrate violence.

Across Victoria, 20 partnerships involving around 70 organisations have worked together to develop excellent models of integrated service delivery. We have retained the specialist focus of family violence services and increased the number of services involved. In each region the family violence partnership will support the statewide strategy and reinforce regional strengths and service models.

In some areas, local services will be available for the first time for women and children, and men. This demonstrates Victoria's advanced approach to family violence, providing more choices and options for women including assisting them to stay in their homes where possible.

The Victorian Government's new approach to family violence means that community services, police and the courts will now work together to make Victorian women and children safer, and hold men who use family violence accountable for their actions.
