Code of Practice for Specialist Family Violence Services for Women and Children

The Code of Practice for Specialist Family Violence Services for Women and Children aims to enhance the service system's transparency, consistency and accountability and enhance the safety of women and children in Victoria. The Code is designed to interlink with other relevant documents as part of the integrated response to Family Violence in Victoria. Service providers are expected to operate according to these standards. Guiding Integrated Family Violence Service Reform 2006-2009

From July 2006, Department of Human Services (DHS) funded family violence services are working in partnership to progress the implementation of the new approach to family violence. Local partnerships are working together to provide a more integrated response that aims to improve the safety of women and children and increase accountability of men who use violence against family members.
