Country information
The Victorian Intercountry Adoption Service works with a number of established Overseas Foreign Adoption Programs. The two documents below outline the characteristics, eligibility criteria and current status for each Overseas Country Program Victoria has active working relationships with. The document titled "Information on the current overseas programs " contains more detailed country information as well as a general overview about the intercountry adoption programs, whilst the "Table Summarising Eligibility Criteria" is a simplified summary table outlining the basic program requirements for the countries.
Reading the two documents together will assist prospective applicants to understand the unique requirements of each country. It is important to understand that these documents are updated regularly as it is very common for overseas countries to review and change their eligibility requirements, processes and or fees. These documents can also be viewed as part of the Information Kit. The ICAS also encourages prospective applicants to contact the relevant Overseas Liaison Social Workers as listed in the country information to further discuss their individual circumstances when trying to establish their eligibility for a country program.
